The rains usually pour down in form of a blessing to farmers and the dry lands. When it pours the excitement can make one go outside and dance.
But the rains pouring down in East Africa have brought misfortune to many. Most motorists were swimming in the comfort of their cars yesterday as fares were hiked for matatu users due to the crazy rains.
It’s been a while since we saw this, but I assumed it would have been better since the roads had been renovated by the government engineers. However, the specialist who were in-charge of this roads forget to make useful drainages for such times.
Not quite sure how the problem will be solved but Kenya is not the only country experiencing this.
The other day Tanzania lost some of it’s citizens and homes to the same rains. So might this be the El-Nino rains predicted sometime last year?
